THE PLACE

Surrounding places

Five hundred meters to the east you can visit Puerto Madero (restoration and modernization of dry goods docks of the old city port), featuring office buildings, cinemas, restaurants and an extensive pedestrian walkway skirting the old docks and moorings for cargo ships.

Not far away is Avenida Costanera (a driveway bordering the coastline) that still shows remnants of the old splendor of the southern river bank resort (deck, boulevard, gazebos, fountains, monuments, museums). From there you can stroll towards the nature reserve (wilderness, lagoons, ponds, birds, small wildlife).

Also near, is the colorful quarter of La Boca, where the first Italian immigrants settled, and the headquarters of the most popular soccer team, Argentina's national sport.

About 10 blocks away from our B&B, down Defensa street, you meet the Buenos Aires civic center: Plaza de Mayo, National Government House, the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Buenos Aires City Hall and several Spanish colonial Baroque style churches.
